At Horse Creek Acres, you'll hunt only private property that we have the exclusive hunting rights on.  We do not hunt any public property where your hunt could be interrupted by other hunters.  In addition, we place only two hunters on each parcel of property.  You two will be the only hunters on that parcel during your hunt.  This policy, along with the limited number of hunts we book annually, assures compliance with our company philosophy of providing a high-quality hunt for low-pressured trophy bucks.

We “stand” hunt exclusively.  No tromping through the timber, kicking deer out of their bedding areas and forcing them to go nocturnal or on to neighboring property.

You’ll be hunting from your choice of multiple stands each day.  For your comfort, our properties have strategically located, 2-Man ladder stands for your use.  These 2-Man ladder stands have been modified with broadened seats and camo curtains.  We have portable ground blinds to get you out of the weather, if necessary, and provide added options and mobility.  Of course, you’re welcome to bring your own favorite lock-on, climber, or blind, if you so desire.

ATVs are available for your use if you would like to use them to get to the stands.

We hunt 100% wild, free ranging game. There are no high fences, and there are no guarantees.  However, our location is in the heart of the Midwest big buck country, combined with the lack of hunting pressure on our properties, give you an excellent opportunity to harvest your trophy.  We do have a minimum size limit of 130” B&C score.

Horse Creek Acres caters to true trophy hunters, not those who will “settle for less”. In Iowa, a doe tag is included with your non-resident license, in Missouri, a doe tag is very inexpensive. If you want to take some venison home, harvest a doe, but let that young buck walk!  In order to continue to provide a true trophy hunt in the years to come, we have to protect this year's small bucks in order to give them the opportunity to grow into next year's big bucks.
